So thrilled to share my latest textile adventures. I’m truly thankful that despite changing career paths after fashion school, I get to connect with my love for apparel design through these capsule print collections Infinite Wildness, the FW2018 print collection for @jonrenau was inspired by adventure into the depths of nature, propelled by romanticism and rooted in poetry. I carried Henry David Thoreau’s Walden with me everywhere throughout the design process and I kept going back to the excerpt below🌿✨ “We need the tonic of wildness -- to wade sometimes in marshes where the bittern and the meadow-hen lurk, and hear the booming of the snipe; to smell the whispering sedge where only some wilder and more solitary fowl builds her nest, and the mink crawls with its belly close to the ground. 💛 discovered this volunteer sunflower in my backyard today and can’t help but feel my dear friend’s presence in this insanely poignant physical representation of her perpetual love and encouragement ✨ one of the many things i learned about from her were volunteer veggies and flowers. discovering these throughout her garden delighted her tremendously. they always represented something extra special, perhaps because they existed on their own— nobody made the soil ready or watered them or anticipated their arrival....yet here they were in all their beauty and resilience. 🌻 and she loved sunflowers. on the day we celebrated her at stone steps, i handed out seeds for all of us to sprinkle along the way. i imagine them growing unsuspectingly until they bloom and bring a smile to someone’s face, most likely a sweet curious child.... #volunteer #resilience #love #gratitude
